Canny Chanters Chopwell Arts - 2020

Background

Building upon the success of the 30-strong, intergenerational local community choir ‘Canny Chanters’, I had established and developed in 2018, I wished to support and enable the creation of new independent, sustainable and community led arts activities. Spurred on by the ever positive feedback from singers and supporters, I wanted to support our Chopwell community and local residents to ‘have a say’ in developing more groups like CC, and develop a community arts programme which not only responded to our varying needs and tastes, but actively sought to engage the community in the decision making, design and development of the programme.
